All Over Albany has a post about “Thacher Park’s Namesake” – John Boyd Thacher. Solid read for those curious about the legend of the man who the (endangered) park is named after.
Speaking of history, the National Register posted some amazing old photographs of the Watervliet Arsenal in their Flickr stream (here through here!). This site was dedicated as a National Historic Landmark in 1966.
